Who we are
Tal-Massar Winery is a cherished family-owned boutique winery nestled in the historic village of Għarb, Gozo. Our story begins in 1934, when gozitan immigrant Carmelo Hili returned from America and first founded the winery. Nowadays, third-generation vintner Anthony Hili and his wife Marisa, continue preserving the winery's legacy into the 21st century. Our vines are planted in lime calcareous soil which limits their productivity, but ensures the best quality grapes. In fact, we only produce twenty thousand bottles of wine from a single harvest. Every year, we produce a range of IĠT and DOK Gozo wine from grape varieties such as the indigenous Maltese Girgentina, Vermentino, Nero d'Avola, Syrah, and Merlot.
